A member asked:

What do i do if i had a breast scan recently and was told that i have bilateral benign axillary lymph nodes in both axillae, but no masses, everything else was very normal; i was told it maybe due to my shaving, should i be worried?

At age "31", if you have a family history of early age breast cancer, consult a general surgeon about a possible "sentinel node biopsy" which may reduce suspicion of lymph node spread of occult malignancy. If there were no groups of fine calcium positive clusters on your breast scan (presumably an ultasound or digital mammogram) and negative family history, there is low risk of malignancy.

Quit shaving. You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!
