All medications have side effects. But sometimes the benefits outweigh the risks. You need to discuss with the doctor that is treating you for osteoporosis/osteopenia to evaluate whether benefits outweigh risks in your specific case.

I would go to Drugs.com and look up side effects and then do interaction check with Fosamax and all other meds. Then you and your Dr can do a cost benefit analysis and worry (or not worry) based on that.
