A drug called acyclovir can sometimes reduce the intensity of varicella outbreaks/symptoms. For most cases this is not recommended but if the pattern is as cited it may be an option.

The viral illness will resolve usually within three weeks. It is less contagious after the lesions form a scab. Watch for prolonged or worsening cough or fever. Continue the medications, avoid aspirin and aspirin products. A COVID screening test is recommended, and if there is swelling of the eyelids, discharge from the eyes, please see a Pediatrician.
