A 55-year-old female asked:
Endometrial biopsy states tan gray tissue? isn't gray color a bad sign? i had a gray tan thyroid nodule biopsy that turned out was cancer. it says proliferative endometrium, but i'm worried about gray color? though was only supposed to be tan?

Grey tan is not a meaningful finding. All tissues turn gray when fixed in formalin which is the usual process for processing a tissue for microscopic examination. Proliferative endometrium is normal endometrium. Talk to the doctor who performed the biopsy.
