I've had several blood testnthe past year. and particularly my calcium level has me wondering. it has varied several times. it was 9.3, 10.5, 9.8, and 10.5, and 10.1. my doctor just now wants to monitor it. should i be concerned? what could it mean?

Calcium level can vary with hydration. It is usually high with fasting blood, lower with non fasting. Your highest level was 10.5 but it was not constantly high so you do not have to worry. For hypercalcemia, I only concern if the level is not fluctuating but persistently high then getting higher.

I agree with your MD's & Dr.Le''s advice. At your age a calcium level of 10.5 is at the upper limits of normal. Over 10.5 would.instegate a workup for hyperparathyroidism with a checking of your PTH level.
