A member asked:

When one is experiencing serious itch down her vagina alongside abnormal vagina discharge and dryness, what could be the possible diagnosis and treatment?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most commonly vaginal itching is d/t candidiasis (yeast infection). Sometimes by chronic dermatoses, such as lichen sclerosus/vulvar eczema. Squamous epithelial dysplasia should be in the differential as well, however less likely. Rarer causes include infection, atrophy, and vulvodynia. Tx includes antimycotic drugs or glucocorticoids depending the cause. Talk to your gynecologist for treatment.
