A member asked:

Slight blood in mucus from sinuses in the morning. is this normal with mild sinus infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The capillaries inside the nasal passages are fragile and will often break/leak from minor trauma including blowing the nose. By itself, the presence of bloody mucous does not define or suggest a sinus infection. If you develop fever, localized pain over a sinus, or heavy cloudy nasal drainage it may be evidence of a sinus infection.
