A member asked:

10 months of struggling with symptoms (vasculitis, urticaria, lymphadenopathy, polyarthritis) since 1st covid-19 vaccine now diagnosed with serum sickness. i'm put on sulfasalazine and autohemotherapy. has the disease damaged my joints/hips already?

The severity of the inflammation in the joint would determine the extent of damage but nobody could tell you that without examination and imaging studies of the joints. Your doctor there would be able to tell you however the damage could be limited with possibility of some reversibility if the inflammation in the body is controlled. Combine possible ways of limiting inflammation may be more helpfu

Evaluation for inflammation may also include a panel of inflammatory markers, white blood cell count and differential. If your joints are swollen and painful, autoimmune disease should be considered. Imaging of the joints that are most involved may be considered. When did your symptoms begin in relation to the vaccination? Watch for shortness of breath. cough, and please follow up with your PCP
