A member asked:

Are ultrasound scans done between 10-12 weeks accurate at providing a due date for a woman who has irregular periods?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Any single ultrasound is initially an "estimate" of gestation. Adding the results of a second ultrasound several weeks or a couple months later makes the provision of an estimated gestation/ due date more accurate. Sometimes baby decides to come earlier or later for a number of reasons. I don't plan my life around these findings.
