Benign tumor: A fibroadenomas is a benign (non-malignant) tumor of the breast. They should generally be excised to prove they are not a malignant tumor. They can rarely have areas of malignancy within them which is another reason to remove them

Fibroadenomas: are common benign tumors of the breast. Generally, they don't need to be removed once the diagnosis has been made by needle biopsy. Surgical excision is an option if they become painful, large, or otherwise bothersome.
