You get the most from this site when you provide detailed information followed by a question. Here there is none. For mild low iron I would not recheck labs for a month. I would expect 3 months of treatment to restore iron reserves. Whether this could apply in your case is unknown, personal variations matter. You are welcome to start over with why you were tested & the values involved.

It depends on how readily you are absorbing the iron you are taking. You should take 500mg of vitamin C with your iron dose as this will promote absorption. Hopefully, your doctor will check your iron levels in about 4-6 weeks to see if your iron levels are increasing. If you have anemia from low iron, that can be checked at the same time to see if your anemia is improving. Best of luck to you!!

Be advised that only 10% of the iron you take orally is absorbed. If you have significant iron deficiency anemia you should take iron 3 times a day & as has been mentioned by Dr.F, taking vitamin C enhances absorption of the iron. Your stools will turn black.

It depends on how you take iron, taking orally may take months. Intravenous infusion replace all your iron in one sitting in a few hours.
