Fully agree with the challenge of glibly diagnosing cause of insomnia without a thorough history, and physical examination. I doubt that your insomnia is solely due to menses. See your regular physician and get this fully assessed. Emotional anxiety due to stress and depression might need to be handled. A "sleep hygiene program" is advised. Would avoid sleeping pills if possible.
