Should be checked : If the nodes are larger than 1cm and have been present for 4 months, you should see a physician for an exam. They could be inflammatory and antibiotics could be tried. If they do not resolve over a few weeks, a biopsy might be necessary to be sure this is not lymphoma or some other malignancy. Enlarged nodes should not be ignored although most are benign and of no concern.
