Collars : Collars can be a hindrance as well as helpful. If you wear them and they are helping you move easily and function normally then that's okay. But if you feel your range of motion decreased the muscles will start to lose tone and weaken. Yoga is one of the best exercises you could find to strengthen weaker neck and back muscles.
