The risk of being seated on a long flight is the lack of constant movement of blood up the legs, in the veins. The risk can be reduced by choosing an aisle seat and getting up to walk frequently. While seated, move one's feet frequently to help pump blood up the legs. If one has pain in the legs after a prolonged flight, seek an Emergency exam with a doppler ultrasound test.

DVT happens on flights of 5 or more hours. On any flights get up and take a walk down the aisle. If you developed DVT you would know by now. Get a massage or sit in a hot tub. Your body is hurting from lack of exercise.
