A member asked:

What would a diagnosis of joint effusion in the wrist mean, with presence of inflammation, and how is it treated? can cortisone shot minimize and cure it?

Joint effusion is associated with acute joint inflammation such as acute arthritis or traumatic joint. Not always is steroid injection indicated or used for joint effusion. When inflammation is treated, effusion subsides and resolves. The treatment will depend on the etiology, not one bullet for all causes.
