There are many causes for painful rashes, but a common one is herpes. In general it resolves on its own in 2-3 weeks but it can come back on and off and the virus can be transmitted to a parner. Further testing is needed.

hard to say without exam. see a Urologist. In the meantime wash the area with soap and water-dry- and use OTC cortisone cream /ointment and wear cotton underwear. Hope you feel better
