A left sided headache lasting one hour is neither representative of a stroke nor a transient ischemic attack, and is not an unusual occurrence in most 40 year old adults. Not clear as to why you fear a stroke. If you have risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, have your doctor closely monitor your health status.
