Most pancreatic cancers are diagnosed in people over 70 and are extremely rare below 55 but are deadly because they don't produce symptoms until they metastasize (spread) to the liver or elsewhere. Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors sometimes produce excess hormone and are found that way but the ones that metastasize usually don't make extra hormone and their detection is the same as adenocarcinoma
