A member asked:

I know that breastfeeding can make conception difficult, but is the effect equal regardless of how much breastfeeding is done? if i decrease but dont eliminate breastfeeding could that make conception more likely, or does it need to stop entirely?

It is well known that return of ovulation and menses is delayed in many who breastfeed. It i thought to represent a natural way to allow focus on the existing infant before another comes along. It may or may not affect all women, so birth control is recommended if it matters since some women conceive soon after giving birth in spite of breastfeeding.
