Coincidence?: In my experience, one of the most common side effects patients complain of is something GI related (nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite). I also think it's important to avoid thinking about seemingly unrelated symptoms being caused by 2 separate processes. Indeed, it's more likely that the new GI symptoms are actually being caused by the ssri. I'd start by telling your doctor about the new sxs.
