I got my sons hba1c done back in may 2020 as he was eating sweets alot it was 5.5 and fasting sugar 84,since then we check fasting sugar from lab in oct 2021 it was 62,are these values okay? was 5.5 prediabetic he is just 8 years old.no symptoms?

I would ignore the "pre-diabetic" interpretation of this test in an 8 yo. That idea applies to overweight adults for a type of diabetes not seen in an 8 yo. Discuss this with his doc.

It is important to reduce his intake of sugary drinks and sweets. Substitute whole fruit for fruit juice, promote healthy eating habits, including lean sources of protein and vegetables. Dairy products such as yogurt, cheese and milk are recommended. Monitor for symptoms of increased urination, thirst, weight loss, vomiting and nausea. Please follow up with your Pediatrician.
