A member asked:

I'm getting both pelvic and vaginal ultrasound to investigate heavy menstrual bleeding. i'm worried about having a full bladder and pressure on the abdomen. is a slightly full bladder ok? also, why do both, isn't vaginal more precise?

You should pee before the procedure. If bladder too full they will ask you to pee. The reason they do both is that they can see different things with each and want to be through is my guess but discuss with the one who ordered the US.

Full bladder will not cause pain. only mid discomfort. This is done to give a better diagnostic value to the ultrasound. Have it done. You will be fine.
