A member asked:

I've had my hearing tested and gotten results saying there's no issue, but sometimes when my classmates/teachers/parents talk, it sounds like pure gibberish. why does that happen? :( (sometimes, not always :) ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Listening involves focus and attention as well as the ability to block out distractions. There are other conditions that may cause difficulty distinguishing words. If the audiology evaluation was normal, you might want to see a neurologist for further evaluation.
