Take Ibuprofen 200 mg x 3 tablets with foods every 6 hours as needed for pain then see your doctor for antibiotic versus incision and drainage if indicated. Besides Ibuprofen or Advil or Motrin OTC, you can use warm compress on the abscess or boil, 10-20 minutes, several times a day.
