Diarrhea being caused by a vehicle accident trauma three months ago is unlikely. The patient may take Imodium or PeptoBismol and if that does not resolve the matter in a day or two, it would be prudent to see a doctor. The patient should drink enough water or electrolyte drinks to stay hydrated enough that the person needs to pass urine at least every 6 hours.
