Cancer is complex and we don't understand all the factors involved. Though HPV, which is sexually transmitted is a major factor, genes can play a role as well especially if on has a family history of cervical cancer. https://www.cancer.org/cancer/cervical-cancer/causes-risks-prevention/risk-factors.html

Your chances of getting cervical cancer are diminished by your sexual history, but you are still at risk and must have a thorough pelvic examination AND a Pap smear on an annual basis.
