I have a family member who has impetigo, and i am worried about catching it. does the bacteria need to enter the mouth or nose/open skin wound or can i catch it simply by coming in contact with it?

Coming in contact with contaminated items like clothing, beddings and towels are potential ways to get impetigo but the main mode is through infection of small cuts or abrasions on the skin from scratching ... Best preventive measure is good hand washing and personal hygiene.
