Hi, my dad have a bump on his lip (outside) he's a smoker and the bump is very soft with a size of a lentil,does not look like herpes iam very afraid that it might be serious situation and he refeuses to visit a doctor is it serious? what causes it?

Please have your dad see a hospital based oral pathologist. The bump may be totally benign, but if not you may save his life. Insist he goes with you. No pain does not mean no problem.
