It can, but doesn't always do so. Almost any antibiotic, including clindamycin, can suppress normal bacteria, allowing yeasts to grow and cause symptoms.

It will favor fungal infections, does not cause them directly, all antibiotics can disrupt normal flora and sometimes fungal infections develop when it happens.
