A member asked:

Three weeks ago i finished radiation for pain in my shoulders and clavicles (metastatic breast cancer pain) it helped the pain and i'm relieved but suddenly i have 1/2 of a numb chin. is this a side effect of radiation?

I've heard of radiation damage to the nerves of the shoulder & arm but I'm unsure whether radiation to the clavicle can affect the superficial nerves of the chin. I recommend that you ask the radiation oncologist this question& also ask if any nerve damage that may have occurred can heal

Highly unlikely that focal involvement of what maybe mental branch of trigeminal nerve would be secondary to radiation Discuss this with your doctor and evaluate structural issue over head and neck
