I had the basic symptoms of gastritis (but could have been caused by pepto bismol, & the next day, i think i had black stools- not sure. the next day stools mainly brown w' bits of black & then diarrhea. now, diarrhea & blood on tp.what should i do?

Peptobismol is good for treating gastritis caused by H.Pylori but itself causes black stools. You have to differentiate this from the black loose stools "tarry stools" which are caused by gastric bleeding. If you have visible blood in the stool, most likely this is lower GI bleeding, coming from the colorectum or anus. Persistent symptoms warrant endoscopy/colonscopy.
