Colored contact lenses bring with them the risk of corneal abrasion, eye infection if used improperly or cleaned improperly and vision problems. Since cosmetic lens manufacturers may not be regulated the same as those that create medical contact lenses, there may also be chemicals in the lenses that can hurt the eye long term, or cause cancer.
