It's accurate about a week after a missed period. If you had your period, the uterine lining has been shed and you're not pregnant.

If your cycles have been regular (24-32 days apart), and ovulation occurred within a few days of unprotected sex, the urine test is accurate. If your cycles have not been regular, obtain a serum HCG test to be certain about pregnancy.
