A member asked:

My fibrinogen is repeatedly 6 g/l. none of the other tests or inflammation markers are abnormal. what is most likely cause of stand alone high fibrinogen levels? what can i do to treat? thank you?

I am not sure why the blood test was done, meaning inadequate information, however it is best not to treat laboratory value if you are well and no inflammatory marker of significance. Fibrinogen is a clotting factor not a disease protein why do you want to treat isolated elevated fibrinogen? Do you have abnormal menstrual flow may be what you could look at as a possible explanation.
