Bronchoscope: You will not be aware of your cough or the bronchoscope if adequately sedated. Fairly benign procedure that is usually well tolerated. Good luck!

Choke & Bronchoscopy: As part of the preparation for bronchoscopy you should not eat for at least 7 hours. The only thing that can get you into trouble is if you vomit up food during the procedure. The physician will spray your throat with local anesthetics so that it will block your reflex to cough/choke. This works well and you should not worry.

Not likely: I see people cough all the time, some non-stop during the entire procedure, despite anesthesia sedating them and using lidocaine to numb the airway. None of them have ever choked.
