A member asked:

My heart rate goes from 60 to 117 when i get up at night to pee. is that normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The rise in pulse rate is a normal response to fall in blood pressure associated with going from recumbent to upright position. It would be prudent to sit for a few seconds with your feet on the ground, before standing up, to prevent a fall from postural hypotension.
