Jaggery is basically unrefined sugar. It is made by boiling sugar cane and then allowing the syrup to harden into chunks. While it does contain a rich source of minerals such as potassium, zinc, and selenium, it is still sugar. Many claims have been attributed to this sugar, But none of these have been verified in studies or other scientific methods. There is no claim for treating hypothyroidism.
