This is a variety of auto-immune encephalitis, mainly affecting the AMPA glutamate receptor. Typically presents as a limbic encephalitis, and both cognitive and psychotic features may be present. About 2/3's of cases are associated with cancers (para-neoplastic syndromes). Additional information can be found at National Library of Medicine.
