This type of vertigo can be from an inner ear disturbance, labyrinthitis,or vestibular neuronitis if you note that head motions or changing positions such as turning over in bed aggravate the vertigo. A dislodged crystal in the inner ear usually causes pronounced vertigo. Absence of other symptoms makes brain causes less likely. Consult an otolarngologist or neurologist for evaluation & advice.
