A member asked:

I cut my finger at work with a box cutter late last week. its healing really well but its numb. i messaged my doctor and neither of us are really worried about it, but what could be the cause? she doesnt want me to come in for an appointment?

When a nerve has been cut healing consists of 1 mm/month. Up until 6-12 months If a nerve has been severed it’s possible that the nerve can reattach and heal. the feeling and sensations will come back. If after one year and numbness and loss of sensation has not returned, chances are it will not return Please consult with a neurologist
