Epilepsy coming on in an older adult is often due to organic brain damage such as a stroke or a brain tumor. A neurologist is best to evaluate, test appropriately and properly treat your mother. I assume she has been tested for copper& zinc toxicity. The recommended dose for copper is up to 3 mgs daily and for zinc, no more than30 mgs daily.

Although skeptical that either copper or zinc toxicity has caused a seizure, levels should be checked and ingestion adjusted appropriately. Since COVID-19 has caused strokes, an MRI should be done. Elevated triglycerides also are stroke risks. A neurologist needs to be consulted. She should avoid driving, power equipment, activities at heights, bathing or swimming alone.
