Covid pcr test came back as detected and under reference range. it says not detected. it doesnt say negative or positive clearly. this is 8 days after initial rapid test being positive?

These tests are not like the standard strep test where finding it means it is there and contagious. They look for the genetic material of the virus which can be present for weeks after the live virus has gone. When deciding if it is likely new (contagious) or old (not) it refers to the quantity of material found. If it is below reference range that means not an active contagious case.

Your result is positive in that Covid nucleic acid was detected. Reference range or normal value is a negative result or lack of Covid nucleic acid.
