A member asked:

Can an echocardiogram gives a false diastolic dysfunction results?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

With the many measurements used in the echocardiographic diagnosis of DD,, it would be less accurate than the invasive cardiac catheterization taken measurements of left ventricular filling pressures. Many physicians dismiss grade 1 DD on echo as essentially normal. There is not much to do to treat DD except reduce BP&slow rapid heart rates so I'm not sure if exact degree is needed clinically
