A member asked:

What values on an echocardiogram determine diastolic dysfunction. can you have normal values and still have diastolic dysfunction. thanks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

With diastolic dysfunction there is E/A reversal due to reduced E wave velocity. A measurement called global longitudinal strain, if below 18 % is apt to be due to diastolic dysfunction even with a borderline or normal regular echocardiogram. A low diastolic blood pressure is often a sign of DD also.
