Unprotected sex during a period will unlikely result in pregnancy, granted if the periods are regular. Sperm can live inside the vagina and uterus for a few days, and pregnancy likely happens around ovulation. Plan B must be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, but it is not 100% effective. Condoms/Abstinence can only prevent STDs, and birth control is more effective than "pulling out."
