There is no artery which can be felt on the back of thigh muscles. There is an artery further down on the back of the knee which can be felt. So if what you feel continues pl. see your MD for proper diagnosis. Good luck

If the pulsation is synchronous with your pulse you could be feeling a prominent popliteal artery pulsation in the back of the knee. . If not in sync with your pulse muscle irritability could be what you're experiencing.
