For a couple weeks have had burning sensation just above male genitals (the hairy area). pain is not severe but is constant. ibuprofen provides no relief. there is no burning on urination, or any other apparent symptom. advice please?

Did you or someone check the area closely to confirm the skin is intact without apparent rash or lesion? Is the burning sensation present in the whole area or just one side from the mid-line? If the area is visually intact, referred pain vs neuropathic pain should be considered. It's worth to visit your doctor for a thorough exam.

Wash area with soap and water and apply OTC cortisone ointment/cream for a few days. If not better see your MD
