A member asked:

A smoke bomb went off at my school when i was 16 i was to close to it when it went off and the students that did it got into trouble. i lost some of my hearing from the loud blast will it ever return?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unfortunately if hearing loss doesn't recover fully after 6 weeks or so, the prognosis for permanent damage is poor as the inflammation associated with noise damage resolves by then. At this time there's no procedure that can restore hearing damage caused by explosions or other very loud noise injury.
