If her infection is only genital, she doesn't have oral infection and cannot pass it by oral sex. Equally important, genital HSV1 is rarely transmitted even by vaginal sex. Avoidance of sex during outbreaks is nearly 100% effective in preventing transmission. (Very different than genital HSV2 infection.) Your gf is a very safe sex partner in regard to herpes!
